Revolutionizing logistics with a machine vision system, optimizing shipping and receiving operations in real-time. This technology captures freight handling activities, turning all labels into actionable data, and immediately spotting discrepancies at loading docks.
As a Frontend Developer at Kurt Noble Inc. (KNI), I spearheaded the modernization of Kargo's existing React-based website. This involved a comprehensive overhaul, converting static pages into dynamic, customizable templates using Prismic's "Slice machine". Collaborating closely with the Kargo team, we integrated custom HubSpot forms, Google Tag Manager events, and developed over 40 reusable components. The project delivered improved SEO rankings, actionable insights from Google tracking events, and a standout success with the revamped 'How It Works' page. Working with Kargo has enriched my client support experience and expanded my frontend skills.
In this project, we harnessed the power of Prismic's "Slice Machine" to transform Kargo's static pages into dynamic, customizable templates. By linking components to an intuitive interface in the CMS, we empowered the Kargo team to manage their templates, pages, and dynamic content effortlessly. I built a robust library of components on-top of their existing site with this new system. Check out the kitchen sink:
In addition to the Prismic CMS integration, the project included other vital integrations such as custom HubSpot forms and Google Tag Manager events. Each of these added layers of functionality, contributing to the website's dynamic nature and improving the end user's experience.
I worked closely with Kargo's Marketing team to develop strategic enhancements to their website, optimizing call to actions, forms, and components for conversions.
A significant part of this project involved close collaboration with Kargo's content and marketing team. Even after the CMS integration was live, I provided ongoing support for approximately nine months. During this time, we expanded the component library, revamped key pages, and created detailed documentation to guide the Kargo team's autonomous maintenance of their site. A standout success was the Kargo Blog which got a total revamp that came with a dozen new components.
Throughout the project, we faced and overcame numerous challenges, ranging from an initial learning curve with Prismic CMS to creating complex scrolling animations. Each challenge offered invaluable learning opportunities, honing my problem-solving skills, pushing my technical abilities, and enhancing my ability to communicate effectively about technological limitations and possibilities.
The project had multiple tangible outcomes, including improved SEO rankings and visibility, strategic placement of call-to-action forms, and more insightful Google tracking events. This led to better design decisions and higher conversions. Working with Kargo, an innovative startup, has been an enriching career experience, sharpening my frontend skills and providing a wealth of client support experience.
